Amalfi Coast and beautiful Ravello are still a hit among travellers today. Your first stop is Amalfi and later popular tourist destination Ravello.
The tour highlights:
The Amalfi tour starts with a visit to the main town of the coast. Amalfi was the ancient Maritime Republic, powerful and prosperous and even nowadays, the city attracts tourists from different parts of the world. There are many beautiful sites in the area, but the imposing Cathedral, dedicated to Saint Andrew, stands superbly on the top of a great flight of steps leading up from the main square. Other popular Amalfi attractions are Cloister of Paradise – the complex adjacent to Duomo di Amalfi (Cathedral of Amalfi) and a place worth visiting because it looks like an open-air museum with numerous sculptures; Amalfi Paper Museum, Amalfi Coast boat tours, and Capri boat tours.
After the Amalfi guided tour where you will learn about city’s history, you will also have free time to explore them on your own, relax on the beach or enjoy an optional boat tour sailing the Coast in the beautiful blue and green water of our Gulf. The city is also well known for being the home of the skilled production of handmade paper, which is why many visitors decide to visit the Paper Museum where they used to produce the Bambagina (Carta Bambagina)- a valuable type of paper produced in Amalfi since the Middle Ages. Before heading to Ravello, you will have a lunch in a typical family restaurant in Scala.
The third stop will be the famous Ravello, full of historic, artistic, monumental and architectural treasures. During Ravello tour, you will visit the famous Villa Rufolo, dating back to the second half of the 13th century. The villa inspired Richard Wagner to compose some verses of the Parsifal and hosted Boccaccio while writing the Decameron. Its gardens overlook the sea and from there the view is breathtaking. The return in Sorrento is expected at 4:30 p.m.
