Avenue of Volcanos runs approximately 200 miles south of Quito between two parallel cordilleras. It has seven peaks more than 17,000 feet high representing Ecuador’s indigenous heartland. German explorer Alexander von Humboldt, the greatest scientific traveler who ever lived, coined the term Avenue of the Volcanoes. Chimborazo is the highest peak. This tour includes a visit to the Cotopaxi National Park, Riobamba which lies in the shadow of Chimborazo, and a train ride towards small mountain ridge Devil's Nose.

Departure from Quito through the Avenue of the Volcanoes admiring the beautiful Andean landscape. This will be the great opportunity to take pictures. Next, we stop at the Cotopaxi National Park, situated in the Cotopaxi Province approximately 50 km from Quito. The Volcano is located within the park boundaries, together with two others - Rumiñawi volcano to its northwest and the Sincholagua volcano. Cotopaxi's last significant eruption was in 1904.
Afterward, the tour continues to Riobamba. You will be accommodated in a typical hacienda of the region. The next day breakfast will be served and we departure to the train station located in Alausí. From here the tour continues with a train ride towards the famous Devil’s Nose, (train ride takes approx. 2 hours). The tours towards Devil’s Nose are the most popular section of Ecuador’s train track. Many tourists come and enjoy their sightseeing over the mountain and its spectacular scenery.
